We may consult on senior housing in Olympia WA, but we are active participants in our community and we encourage seniors to stay involved as well.
You may have raised a family, had a career (maybe even working past the age of retirement), played with your grandbabies, and hopefully you are now enjoying the rewards of a life of hard work. For many seniors, that change of pace can be a difficult transition. You may have gone from influencing many lives every day to spending your time in smaller social circles.
Have no fear; you are still needed in so many ways! Have you considered making yourself available as a mentor for a student in your chosen field? We recently wrote about helping yourself stay active by joining a community center for access to activities with other seniors, but there are other ways to stay involved and creative in your own community, every day.
Did you know Olympia has its own Senior Citizens’ Lobby? The meetings take place on the third Monday of every month and anyone can take part. If you have been looking for a way to get involved in your community, this might be a great way to make your voice heard and make a difference throughout the state of Washington.
By staying visible and showing your desire to help your local community, you make a difference every day. Please share with us the ways you contribute to your community, and it may inspire others to make a difference, too!
